About foundation

Neles Oy was founded 1956 by Antti and Kerttu Nelimarkka together with Eino Santasalo. Neles Oy's business was almost from the beginning to develop and manufacture industrial valves including pneumatic actuators, positioners and other accessories. Quite soon 1960 Nelimarkka's family took over the business completely until 1982 when it was sold to Finnish company Rauma. Merger of two Finnish companies Rauma and Valmet formed a new company Metso 1999. Neles was part of Metso's automation and flow control business until July 2020 when it was demerged from Metso to start as an independent company Neles Oyj. April 2022 Neles Oyj was merged with Valmet Oyj as new Flow Control Business Line.
